Therapy dogs lend a helping paw

The ISU police department's three therapy dogs have seen their role on campus increase over the past four years. They assist at freshman orientation, visit staff at the hospital, go to class to help conduct mental health presentations and often are available to students when they seek out the police department for assistance.

Proposal process opens for strategic plan funding

Faculty and staff can learn more at one of three campus information sessions March 20-23. Proposals for funds that becomes available on July 1 should be submitted on the strategic plan website by April 28.

University, private sources pressed for student aid

Federal aid's capacity to cover tuition has declined steadily since 2011, and state grants and scholarships remain a very small piece of the equation, less than 1% of undergraduate aid. Iowa State is the largest source of scholarships and grants for its undergraduates.

Top Hat will transition to enterprise solution

Iowa State has a new enterprise agreement with Top Hat's creator, eliminating the need for student subscriptions. The app offers live polling, discussion topics and quizzes, and instructors can assign group work to be submitted online.

Council elects executive officers for 2023-24

The new and reelected Professional and Scientific Council officers will begin their term on July 1.
