Lamkey receives plant breeding impact award

Kendall Lamkey, agronomy department chair, received the 2020 Public Sector Plant Breeding Impact Award from the National Association of Plant Breeders. As chair, Lamkey provides leadership and direction for education, research and extension. His research program focuses on corn breeding with an emphasis on the quantitative genetics of selection response, inbreeding depression and heterosis.

Lamont honored by Iowa Poultry Association

Sue Lamont, Distinguished Professor of animal science, received an Honorary Member Award from the Iowa Poultry Association. The award is given annually to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the poultry community in Iowa.

Huff-Lonergan receives distinguished teaching award

Elisabeth Huff-Lonergan, professor of animal science, received the 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award this summer from the American Meat Science Association. The award recognizes excellence in teaching of undergraduate and graduate meat science courses and the impacts the awardee has made on the lives of his or her students.
