Senate opens business with diversity and inclusion endorsement

The Faculty Senate passed a resolution encouraging a campus-wide commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Senators also approved a new online major and a program name change at the Nov. 8 meeting.

Online, in-person training helps answer FLSA questions

Training for employees and their supervisors impacted by changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is in full swing. Online courses and enrollment for in-person sessions are available through Learn@ISU. 

Overtime changes, pay structure top council discussion

University human resources staff fielded questions and concerns from Professional and Scientific Council members about the Dec. 1 implementation of new federal overtime regulations and a comprehensive review of the P&S pay structure.

Review of learning management system has begun

The license with the current provider, Blackboard Learn, ends in December 2017. All faculty, staff and students are invited to complete a survey.

UHR recommends flexible spending accounts to save money

Employees who want to start contributing to a flexible spending account or participating in the dependent care assistance program need to sign up before the end of the benefits open change period, Nov. 18. For those already participating, changes only are necessary to alter contribution amounts.
