Faculty P&T, Design reorganization among ISU items on regents agenda

Promotion and tenure awards for 68 Iowa State faculty members, an administrative reorganization of the College of Design, parking permit rates for next year, a Lagomarcino remodel for the new School of Education and numerous annual reports to the board – including student retention and student financial aid – are on the agenda when the state Board of Regents meets Thursday at the University of Northern Iowa.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue through the afternoon. A live audio stream of the meeting is available on the board's website.

The board also will elect a president and president pro-tem to two-year terms. President Craig Lang and president pro-tem Bruce Rastetter's terms end April 30.

Additionally, the board will receive an oral report on the student-led "Universities for a Better Iowa" efforts this spring. Representatives of non-unionized employee groups will be given a few minutes to speak to the board about salary issues. At its June 6 meeting, the board will consider salary policies for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
