Walton honored for distinguished service to national council

Marlee Walton, associate teaching professor of civil engineering, received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) for her dedicated service to the council and the engineering and surveying professions. Since 2009, Walton has contributed to the work of more than a half dozen NCEES committees. She also is the council's representative to ABET's Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission and serves in leadership roles in the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Surveying and Geomatics Educators Society.

Lyte receives veterinary research award

Mark Lyte, professor of veterinary microbiology and preventive medicine and the W. Eugene Lloyd Chair in Toxicology, is Iowa State's recipient of a 2023 Zoetis Award for Veterinary Research Excellence. Zoetis is the world's largest producer of medicine and vaccinations for pets and livestock, and the award recognizes researchers whose innovative studies have advanced the scientific standing of veterinary medicine.
