Comito Honored with a National Wetlands Award

Jacqueline Comito, director of the Iowa Learning Farms and Water Rocks! programs at Iowa State University, will be recognized in the category of Education and Outreach. Comito is being recognized for her work leading her team in wetlands promotion through Iowa Learning Farms and teaching about wetlands with the Water Rocks! program.

Math department wins achievement award

ISU's math department is the 2015 recipient of the Award for an Exemplary Program or Achievement in a Mathematics Department from the American Mathematical Society. The award is the highest honor the society awards to a math department in North America. ISU's math department was cited for excellence in several areas, including undergraduate education, mentoring, diversity efforts and teamwork.

Craig Anderson named to elite list of researchers

Distinguished Professor of psychology Craig Anderson was named to an elite list of psychology researchers in the journal Archives of Scientific Psychology. A research team developed a list of 200 "eminent psychologists of the modern era" based on awards, citation metrics and textbook coverage. Anderson is ranked No. 176.

Draper receives alliance's Friend award

Dianne Draper, professor emeritus of human development and family studies, was awarded the 2015 Friend of the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance award. Draper was recognized as a pioneer founder of the online degree alliance and her continued support of it for more than 20 years.
