Gransberg receives ASCE Construction Management Award

Douglas Gransberg, professor of civil, construction and environmental engineering, recently accepted the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Construction Management Award. The award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of construction management as a practitioner, educator or researcher.

ISU named to Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll

Iowa State has been selected as a member of Phi Theta Kappa’s 2016 Transfer Honor Roll, recognizing excellence in recruitment and support of community college transfer students. ISU is one of only 40 institutions to receive the honor. Schools will be recognized at Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention on April 7.

Bugeja named JMC administrator of the year

Michael Bugeja, director of the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, has been named the 2015 Charles E. Scripps Journalism and Mass Communication Administrator of the Year. The award is given in collaboration with the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Stanley receives Cottrell Scholar Award

Levi Stanley, assistant professor of chemistry, has been named a 2016 Cottrell Scholar.The Cottrell Scholar program develops outstanding teacher-scholars who are recognized by their scientific communities for the quality and innovation of their research programs and their academic leadership skills. Outstanding candidates are admitted to the ranks of Cottrell Scholars through a stringent peer-review process based on their innovative research proposals and education programs.

Bookstore receives performance awards from national assocation

The University Book Store in the Memorial Union received the Excellence in Course Materials Management Award and the MVP Award for Overall Outstanding Performance for 2014-15 from the Independent College Bookstore Association. The bookstore was recognized for implementing several initiatives aimed at making course materials more affordable for students while controlling its expenses.

Kelly named to 'rising stars' list

Dan Kelly, an assistant operations manager for ISU Dining, has been named to the 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars by the Institute for Supply Management. The program highlights the accomplishments of rising supply chain management professionals, who were nominated for their outstanding achievements by managers, mentors or coworkers.
