Jimmy Rogers was introduced Dec. 8 as the 34th head football coach in Iowa State history. Seated between President Wendy Wintersteen and athletics director Jamie Pollard in a room of media representatives, Rogers shared his enthusiasm for leading the Cyclones.

"This is a blessing, and I am so excited for this opportunity," Rogers said. "You will get consistency and authenticity from me, and I am ready to work extremely hard."

He recognized the accomplishments of former Cyclone head coach Matt Campbell and said competing for Big 12 Conference championships and reaching the College Football Playoff remain the goal.

Rogers led Washington State University to a 6-6 record this fall in his lone campaign leading the Cougars. Before that, he coached South Dakota State University, his alma mater, to the 2023 Football Championship Subdivision national title, formally Division I-AA and the second highest level of college football.

"We have brought certainty to Iowa State football," Pollard said. "The next leader of our program is someone who wants to be here, and someone who understands what he has to go through with his staff and the players because he has done it."

Rogers owns a three-year, 33-9 record as a head coach, including a 27-3 mark in two seasons at SDSU. He agreed to a six-year contract at Iowa State.
