Construction continues at the LeBaron Hall replacement site and remains on schedule to wrap up next fall. Features of the $39 million building include a 100-seat general university classroom; college-use programming and teaching space; teaching, production and design studios for the fashion program (previously housed in the original LeBaron); experiential learning space for the event management program and a historic textiles and clothing lab.
Above, two construction workers secure a stud for the substrate of the south wall. Below is an aerial view of the construction project earlier this week. LeBaron Hall is flanked by MacKay Hall (top right) and the Human Nutritional Sciences Building (left), the second floor of which was renovated to provide modern lab spaces for the textile science curriculum. The alignment of the buildings will create an outdoor courtyard (center).
