Joseph (Joe) Paulick started in his new leadership role July 31 as associate vice president for campus life in the division of student affairs. Campus life connects the residence department, dining and the Memorial Union to better serve students in their university experience outside the classroom.

He comes to Ames from Washington, D.C., where he had served since 2024 as director of campus living at George Washington University, responsible for an on-campus housing program of 7,100 beds in 23 residence halls and 21 fraternity and sorority houses.

Prior to his role at George Washington University, Paulick served in several capacities at Florida International University, Miami, including associate vice president of auxiliary operations for the division of academic and student affairs (2019-24), senior director of housing and residence life (2019), and director of housing (2013-18). He also held university housing positions at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, and New York University, New York City (2001-13).

Paulick earned a bachelor's degree in health information administration from the College of Saint Scholastica, Duluth, Minnesota, and a master's degree in college student affairs from the University of South Florida, Tampa.
