Presidential search committee meets July 1 on campus

Author: Anne Krapfl

The search committee tasked with identifying a successor to President Wendy Wintersteen will meet for the first time on Tuesday, July 1 (9-11 a.m., 1750 Beardshear). A meeting agenda is online, and the meeting will be livestreamed on the Iowa Board of Regents website.

Board president Sherry Bates will give the 12-member committee its charge. Committee members will discuss the search process, including a timeline, and are expected to begin identifying the attributes they'll seek in candidates for the ISU presidency.

Regent JC Risewick and 2025-26 Faculty Senate president Meghan Gillette are co-chairing the search committee. Washington, D.C.-based AGB Search, which assisted with Iowa State's previous presidential search, is working with the committee again.

Last month, Wintersteen announced her plans to retire in January 2026.
