The Division of Student Affairs has begun searches for two positions -- dean of students and registrar. Former dean of students, Dione Somerville, left Iowa State last June to become vice president of student affairs at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Kathy Jones currently serves as registrar and assistant vice president for student affairs. She plans to retire later this year.
Tom Hill, vice president for student affairs, appointed search committees for each position, and academic research firm Spelman and Johnson Group, Easthampton, Mass., was hired to develop candidate pools. The positions also are posted on the Iowa State employment website. Applications and nominations should be forwarded to the Spelman and Johnson Group.
On-campus open forums for the dean of students candidates are planned the weeks of April 23 and April 30, and registrar finalists will participate in open forums the week of May 7.
