CARD wins policy analysis award

A Center for Agricultural and Rural Development report, "The Impact of the 2018 Trade Disruptions on the Iowa Economy,"  won the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association Bruce Gardner Memorial Prize for Applied Policy Analysis Award. Authors are Edward Balistreri, Chad Hart, Dermot Hayes, Minghao Li, Lee Schulz, David Swenson, Wendong Zhang and John Crespi, economics.

Compton receives advocacy award

Sara Compton, outreach manager for the Iowa State Center, is the recipient of the Bill Pelz Arts Advocacy Award this spring from the Ames Community Arts Council. Compton, who has worked at the center for more than 20 years, was recognized for supporting students and adults with a desire to participate in or enjoy performing arts -- through both her work and volunteer activities.

Financial aid staff named to state leadership posts

Jennifer Schroeder and Brittany Peterson, program coordinators in the office of student financial aid, were installed as the president and vice president, respectively, of the Iowa Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators at its annual business meeting April 12. They will serve one-year terms (2019-20) as officers.
