Summer enrollment sets a record

Summer enrollment at Iowa State reached a record-setting 11,636 students this year, an increase of 106 students over the previous record set in 2014. The census day for summer term enrollment is the 10th day of summer session two, this year Friday, June 26.

Off-campus summer enrollment increased by 206 students over summer 2014, while on-campus summer enrollment decreased by 100 students. The number of students who enrolled only in distance courses (online or off-campus face-to-face) grew from 2,751 last summer to 2,957 this summer.

Broken down by student group:

  • Undergraduate students increased by 27
  • Graduate students increased by 97
  • Professional students (veterinary medicine) decreased by 14
  • Post docs decreased by four
