The fifth annual Forever True Day kicks off at noon on Wednesday, April 1, and runs for 24 hours, to noon on April 2. Donors can make gifts on the Forever True Day platform. Or, they can print this gift form (PDF) and mail their gift to the ISU Foundation (see box).
As has been the case each year of this giving day, the goal is to increase the number of donors making gifts, whether they're longtime or first-time supporters of Iowa State. Last year's Forever True Day concluded with 2,059 donors, said Dana Savagian, associate director of annual and special gifts at the ISU Foundation.
"Alumni, employees and friends also can help spread the word by following along on social media and using #ForeverTrueDay on their own posts to help promote what they love at Iowa State," she said.
The 24-hour giving platform will list more than a thousand funds so donors can give to their favorite area of campus. Even with that many options, if they don't find the specific area they'd like to support, they should use the instructions and contact information listed on the platform.
Savagian said the day also will include many fun challenges, including:
Lake LaVerne revitalization and restoration match: Support the revitalization of the iconic campus landmark and make your impact go even further. Alumnus Dexter Duhan will match all gifts to the Lake LaVerne restoration fund on Forever True Day 5:1.
College Leaderboard: Help your favorite college land at the top of the leaderboard if it's the college with the most donors at the end of Forever True Day.
Forever True Day Cash Cube: ISU students, faculty and staff are invited to locate the cash cube and foundation team on campus for the chance to grab some cash for their favorite student organization, program or department.
