Steckelberg joins president's staff

Krysta Steckelberg is serving as executive assistant to President David Cook, responsible for maintaining his calendar, fielding appearance requests and scheduling travel. She joined the staff in the president's office on Feb. 25.

An Iowa State alumna, Steckelberg returns to Ames from American Fork, Utah, where she spent five years with BrainStorm Inc., initially as a recruiting associate and, since 2022, as executive assistant to the company's two co-founders and principals. Previously, she served as director of the Johnston and Ankeny locations of Cadence Academy Preschool (2016-22), an accredited childcare and early education center.

Steckelberg earned a bachelor's degree (2013) from Iowa State in child, adult and family services (since renamed to human development and family studies).
