The EUReCA (Exploring Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity) program -- formerly Undergraduate Research -- has worked with the staff in career services to generate a new job category in CyHire so faculty can post undergraduate positions for a research project or creative endeavor. EUReCA positions may be offered for course credit or hourly pay provided by the faculty member.
This CyHire option gives undergraduates a central place to find opportunities to work on faculty‑led projects across all disciplines. Faculty will be able to quickly screen candidates and collect supplemental information right in the system.
This new option is live now for faculty, with outreach to students expected to begin around March 2. In the meantime, interested faculty can:
Create an "employer" (not faculty/staff) account in CyHire. Faculty who have posted positions in CyHire since 2024 can skip this step.
Attend a webinar on Tuesday, Feb. 3 (4 p.m., via MS Teams) that includes a walk-through of how to post a EUReCA position in CyHire and time for Q&A.
The EUReCA staff includes director Stephen Gilbert, professor of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering; and program specialist Nina VanDerZanden. Questions may be directed to eureca@iastate.edu or cyhire@iastate.edu.
