Katharine Johnson Suski has been named associate vice president for enrollment management, effective Jan. 5. Enrollment management includes the offices of admissions, student financial aid, university registrar, new student programs and enrollment research and analytics.
Suski has served Iowa State since 2014, most recently as assistant vice president for enrollment management and executive director of admissions and new student programs. She had served in the interim associate vice president role since June.
"Katharine is an accomplished professional with a proven track record at Iowa State and a vision for maintaining our momentum in student recruiting and success," said senior vice president and provost Jason Keith.
Suski's achievements at Iowa State include five years of consecutive growth in attracting new students to campus; managing $80 million in scholarships for incoming undergraduates; implementing Salesforce for student recruiting; leading innovative new student programs such as Orientation, Destination Iowa State and Admitted Student Day; and working with her colleagues on the successful launch of Workday Student.
"I'm both humbled and energized by the opportunity to lead Iowa State's enrollment management programs," Suski said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues across the unit to build on our current momentum while also developing innovative new initiatives that serve the needs of our campus partners."
Keith extended his appreciation to the search committee, led by interim assistant provost Sriram Sundararajan, for their work in the interview and selection process, as well as to everyone on campus who shared their feedback on the three finalists.
Director of enrollment marketing Erica Fischer is serving as interim director of admissions.
