Two finalists for the Iowa State presidency are visiting campus this week for daylong interviews. The two are Benjamin Houlton, dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York; and David Cook, president of North Dakota State University, Fargo.

In addition to meetings with faculty, staff, students, administrators and other stakeholders, each finalist will hold an open forum (4-5 p.m., Memorial Union Great Hall) on their visit day:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 5: Houlton
  • Thursday, Nov. 6: Cook

Live video streaming of each public forum will be available on the Iowa Board of Regents website. Recordings of the forums will be available after 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, from the presidential search website.

The candidates' interview schedule and curricula vita are available on the presidential search website, as is a feedback form. Forms should be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7.

Interview with the regents on Nov. 11

The regents will meet on campus Tuesday, Nov. 11, in closed session to hear from the search committee co-chairs, interview the finalists and select Iowa State's next president. The public introduction of the new president tentatively is scheduled for that afternoon in the Memorial Union Campanile Room.

Faculty senate president Meghan Gillette and regent JC Risewick are co-chairing a 12-member search committee that includes additional faculty and regents, student leaders and alumni.
