Campus visits set for two presidential finalists

Author: Anne Krapfl

The Iowa Board of Regents announced today (Oct. 31) that one of the three finalists for Iowa State's presidency has withdrawn from the search. Two finalists are scheduled for daylong visits to campus next week. In addition to meetings with faculty, staff, students, administrators and other stakeholders, each finalist will hold an open forum (4-5 p.m., Memorial Union Great Hall) on these dates:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 5
  • Thursday, Nov. 6

Live video streaming of each public forum will be available on the Iowa Board of Regents website.

The ISU Presidential Search Committee conducted interviews with eight semifinalists on Oct. 20-21 and recommended four finalists for campus visits, three of whom accepted initially.

Each candidate's name will be announced publicly 24 hours prior to their day on campus, and their curriculum vitae will be made available on both the board's website and the presidential search website.

Interviews with the regents on Nov. 11

Following next week's visits, the regents will meet on campus Tuesday, Nov. 11, in closed session to hear from the search committee co-chairs, interview the finalists and select Iowa State's next president.

The public introduction of the new president tentatively is scheduled for that afternoon in the Memorial Union.
