Dawn Bratsch-Prince, associate provost for faculty, has been reappointed to a fourth five-year term. The reappointment is effective July 1 and extends through June 30, 2030.
Senior vice president and provost Jason Keith, in making the announcement, noted Bratsch-Prince's tireless efforts to promote faculty success since her initial appointment in 2010.
"Dawn is an incredible champion and resource for faculty and academic leaders as they strive to carry out Iowa State University's land-grant mission, and her experience and counsel has been invaluable during my first year on campus," Keith said. "Her stewardship of the entire faculty lifecycle, from orientation to advancement and prestigious awards, has benefited countless colleagues over the last 15 years and is a model our peers follow closely."
As associate provost, Bratsch-Prince provides leadership for faculty success programs, including new faculty orientation and mentoring, promotion and advancement, honors and awards, department chair leadership development and the Emerging Leaders Academy for both faculty and staff. She also oversees Institutional Research and the University Ombuds.
"There are many rewarding facets of the job, but ultimately our work is fostering faculty excellence, which manifests itself into the high-quality education our students receive, the strength and breadth of our research programs, and our commitment to share our work with the state through extension and outreach," Bratsch-Prince said. "I very much appreciate the support of the provost, president and senior leaders, and I look forward to continued success for our team in the years to come."
Bratsch-Prince has served in numerous leadership roles since joining Iowa State in 1990, including chair of world languages and cultures and associate dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She has served as associate provost since 2010.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Bratsch-Prince earned bachelor's and master's degrees in Spanish from New York University, and a Ph.D. in romance philology from the University of California, Berkeley.
