College pitch contests run through Feb. 21

Within each college, students use their 90-second pitches to vie for a $500 top prize or $250 runner-up prize in each of two categories. All 28 finalists will go head-to-head Feb. 27 in the Innovation Pitch competition.

Wintersteen provides updates to Faculty Senate

President Wendy Wintersteen spoke to the Faculty Senate about several key issues at its Feb. 11 meeting. Senators also will vote next month to change the name of dead week in the Faculty Handbook.

Task force is working on child care access

President Wendy Wintersteen formed the task force to study the lack of high-quality affordable child care available to employees and students. A report with recommendations is expected in March.

ISCORE celebrates 20 years of inclusive conversations

Alumni returning for the Thomas L. Hill Iowa State Conference on Race and Ethnicity (ISCORE) will talk about how participation and leadership in the program helped shape their career paths. Registration is free for the March 6 conference and a March 4 preconference designed for faculty and staff.

ISD advisory committee issues first report

The improved service delivery advisory committee outlined the accomplishments, challenges and future goals for what it called "arguably the largest administrative endeavor ever at Iowa State."
