Live Green revolving load fund cited

Iowa State's Live Green Revolving Loan Fund is among nine case studies featured in "Greening the Bottom Line," a report by the Sustainable Endowments Institute. The loan fund provides interest-free loans for university projects that promote energy conservation and sustainability and provide a return on the investment. The Sustainabile Endowments Institute is a nonprofit organization that promotes research and education to advance sustainability on campuses.

Two Faculty Members Win Monsters of Design Awards

Lecturers Jungwoo Ji, architecture, and Joori Suh, interior design, won two 2012 Monsters of Design Awards (http://www.monstersofdesign.com/) from the Young Architects Forum of the Kansas City chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Monsters of Design is an annual design awards competition for architects and designers under the age of 40 living and working within 250 miles of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Ji and Suh won a MoD Best Interior Design award for YK Eye Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea, and a Best Residential Design award for Ansung Sky House in Ansung, Kyonggi, South Korea.

Hoiberg to receive Ray Pillar of Character Award

Fred Hoiberg will accept the Ray Award on April 19, 2013 at Character Counts in Iowa's All-Star Evening in West Des Moines. The Ray Awards are presented by Character Counts in Iowa and reflect former Governor Robert D. Ray's lifelong commitment to civility and character development. The award is presented each spring to individuals who consistently demonstrate good character as a visible role model.

Pollard leads 1A athletic directors

Athletics director Jamie Pollard will serve as leader of the 1A Athletic Directors' Association of the 2012-2013 year. Pollard was elected to the post during the athletic directors' annual meeting last month. Pollard served as 1st vice-president and Big 12 representative to the organization last year. The association comprises athletic directors from 12 conferences.
